Harvest 2015 Quintessence Vineyards
Behind-the-scenes with Lauren Ashton Cellars

Kit began the 2015 Harvest season with a visit to the breathtaking Quintessence Vineyards, part of the Red Mountain AVA, in Benton City, WA. They currently grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and several other varieties — with Cabernet Sauvignon comprising 229 acres within the 300 acre vineyard.
Did you know? The Red Mountain AVA gets 2 more hours of sunlight per day during the growing season than Napa Valley!
Now here’s a view at some stunning Cab grapes from behind Kit’s lens. We can’t wait to see where these grapes will take us!

Lovely aromatics push scents of espresso, cassis, truffle and baker’s chocolate right up front. The wine is polished, fine-boned and balanced, with taut cranberry and raspberry fruit. It brings in subtle accents of chalk, earth, rock and lead pencil, building to a firm, beautifully structured finish. — P.G.
