Lauren Ashton Cellars - Cuvée Méline

Cuvée Méline

91 Points, Paul Gregutt Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Tasting Notes

Cuve’e Me’line is a blend of SAUVIGNON BLANC and SEMILLON. It was fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel and barrel with the intention of preserving its youthful fruit. High acidity, balanced by floral notes, flavors of pineapple, peaches, and grapefruit make it a luscious wine. Good intensity with a lovely rounded edge and a refreshing, lively finish.

Food Pairings

It pairs perfectly with fresh seafood served with zesty sauces and garlic. Enjoy Cuve’e Me’line with cheeses, and colorful antipasto platters.

Winemaking

One third of the blend was fermented in new French oak, one third in neutral oak and one third in stainless steel. The fer-mentation was done at cool temperatures to preserve the aromas. The barrel portion was stirred on the lees. The results speak for themselves in the mouth feel which is rich and textural. The fruit was preserved with only hints of oak.
