Cuve’e Mirabelle
91 Points, Paul Gregutt Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Tasting Notes
This complex red blend of GRENACHE, SYRAH, and MOURVÉDRE, from the Columbia Valley excites your senses with licorice, black cherry and floral notes. It is full bodied with great balance and ends with a long finish. It offers flavors of cocoa and truffles.
Food Pairings
Its dark fruit and peppery complexity allows this wine to pair perfectly with robust meat dishes such as beef, pork or lamb cooked with a hint of rosemary. It partners well with Herb de Provence Chicken and root vegetables.
Winemaking
The wine is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Grenache brings lushness and fruit to the blend. Syrah brings minerality, aro-matics, and back-palate tannins. Mourvedre brings dark red fruit, earth, spice and mid-palate richness to the blend. The grapes were handpicked and co -fermented. The wine continued its alcoholic fermentation in French oak until it was dry and then proceeded through Malolactic conversion prior to being racked and returned to barrel where it was aged for 20 months in neutral oak.
Aging Potential
The wine is approachable now and has great aging potential.
